Best Auto Captcha Solver Extensions, Compared
Six auto captcha solver extensions compared on captcha types, pricing, permissions, source code and Firefox support, from store listings read October 2026.
An auto captcha solver extension spots a captcha on the page, gets it answered and fills in the result, so you don't click any images. The six worth considering in October 2026 are CaptchaNo, 2Captcha, CapSolver, NopeCHA, NoCaptchaAI and Buster. They differ less in the headline feature than in what they cost, which captcha types they list, what browser access they ask for and whether you can read their code. The table below covers all five points, and our own extension has an install page with every type and setting.
Disclosure: we build CaptchaNo, so judge our entry with that in mind. Every competitor fact comes from that extension's own Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons listing, or its public code repository, checked on 24 October 2026. We don't publish user counts, star ratings, speed or accuracy figures for anyone. Store numbers conflict from one page to the next, and nobody publishes a reproducible test.
What an auto captcha solver extension actually does
It does three jobs: it detects the captcha widget, gets a valid answer, and puts the answer where the site expects it. The captcha isn't removed or skipped. The site still checks the answer on its own server, so the extension has to produce one the site accepts.
Extensions get that answer in one of three ways:
- A paid solving service behind an API key. The extension sends the captcha's details to the vendor and pays per solve from your balance. CaptchaNo, 2Captcha and CapSolver work this way, and NoCaptchaAI and NopeCHA do too above their free allowances.
- A free allowance from the vendor. NopeCHA and NoCaptchaAI give some free use, then expect a paid plan for more.
- Your own browser doing the work. Buster plays the reCAPTCHA audio challenge through a speech recognition service and types in the transcript. Nothing is billed, but you click a button for each challenge.
"Auto" means different things too. Some extensions solve a widget the moment it appears. Others wait until the site asks for a token, and Buster waits for you to press its button.
How we compared the extensions
We compared on five facts you can check yourself on a store listing in a minute. These matter more for an extension than for a solving API, because an extension runs inside the browser you use for everything else. For APIs, our ranking of captcha solving services on billing, trials and API design applies instead.
- Browsers and listing freshness. Is there a Chrome and a Firefox build, and when was each last updated?
- Captcha types listed. Only what the vendor's own listing or repository names, not "and more".
- Pricing model. Per solve, subscription, free allowance or free outright, as the listing states it.
- Permissions. The access each extension asks for, quoted from its Firefox listing or its manifest.
- Source code. Whether you can read the code you are installing, and under what license.
We left out extensions that solve only one simple format with very few users. For example, a Firefox add-on we found handles only short alphanumeric text images and says it doesn't do reCAPTCHA.
Auto captcha solver extensions compared
None of the six covers every case. 2Captcha lists the most captcha types, Buster is the only free and fully open-source option, and CaptchaNo has the most spend controls. Firefox users should check the update dates, because two of the paid Firefox builds are much older than their Chrome versions.

The six extensions, one by one
Each entry says what the extension does well, where it falls short, and who it suits. We list CaptchaNo first because it's ours and we can describe it in the most detail, not because we ranked it first. Pick by the captcha types you actually see and how much you want to spend.
CaptchaNo: spend controls first
Our extension solves reCAPTCHA v2 (checkbox and invisible), reCAPTCHA v3, checkbox-style reCAPTCHA Enterprise widgets, Cloudflare Turnstile and image captchas, using our own solving infrastructure. Its main difference is how much control you get over spend. You set a daily spend limit ($2 by default), and solving stops for the day once the API's reported costs reach it. A cap of 5 solves per page stops a widget that keeps resetting from draining your balance. reCAPTCHA v3 is off by default, because many sites run it on every page view.
Each type has its own trigger. Checkbox reCAPTCHA is solved as soon as the widget appears, and invisible reCAPTCHA only when the site calls for a token, usually when you submit. A Turnstile widget gets 5 seconds to pass on its own first, because Turnstile clears most real browsers without a challenge, and you pay only if it doesn't. For image captchas you right-click the image and the answer goes into the next empty field. The same flow is available through our image and text captcha solver for scripts.
Current per-solve rates are $0.00598 for reCAPTCHA v2, v3 and Enterprise, $0.00435 for Turnstile and $0.003 for an image captcha. Failed solves aren't billed, and new accounts get free trial credit with no card.
The limits are just as clear. It doesn't handle hCaptcha, FunCAPTCHA, GeeTest, AWS WAF or DataDome, and score-based Enterprise keys are left to the site's own widget. It isn't in the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons yet: you load the downloaded folder in developer mode, and Firefox removes a temporary add-on when it restarts. It also asks for access to all sites, because a captcha can appear on any site. The allowlist mode limits where it acts, but not the permission itself.
2Captcha: the longest list of captcha types
2Captcha's Chrome extension lists more captcha types than any other here, including GeeTest v4, Arkose Labs, AWS WAF and several smaller formats besides reCAPTCHA and Turnstile. Pick it if you meet unusual captchas. You pay per automatic solve from a funded 2Captcha balance. Its Firefox listing was last updated in September 2024, about 19 months before the April 2026 Chrome build, so Firefox users may get an older feature set. The MIT-licensed source repository was archived in November 2024 at an older version, so you can't read the code of the current store build. If you're moving off 2Captcha altogether, our guide to which 2Captcha alternatives are actually drop-in covers the API side. Listings: 2Captcha on Firefox Add-ons.
CapSolver: current Chrome build, old Firefox build
CapSolver's Chrome extension was updated in September 2026 and lists reCAPTCHA v2 and v3, Turnstile, AWS WAF and text captchas. It needs a CapSolver account with a funded balance. Its Firefox listing is still at a version from February 2024 and asks for developer tools access as well as access to all sites. The code isn't published: its GitHub repository holds only a readme and release downloads. It suits Chrome users who already have a CapSolver balance. Listing: CapSolver on Firefox Add-ons.
NopeCHA: free personal use with a daily allowance
NopeCHA's listing says the extension is free for personal use, with a daily free allowance and paid plans above it. Its Chrome and Firefox builds were both updated in June 2026, so Firefox users get the same version. It lists reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, FunCAPTCHA, Turnstile, AWS WAF and image captchas. Its repository says the source has been closed since 2023, and only an old 0.3.x version is archived under MIT. That suits light, occasional personal use, but not if you need to audit what runs in your browser. We cover the API differences in our CaptchaNo and NopeCHA comparison.
NoCaptchaAI: broad permissions to check first
NoCaptchaAI lists reCAPTCHA, GeeTest, AWS WAF and image-to-text captchas, installs free, and moves you to a paid plan for higher usage. Its Firefox listing asks for more access than any other here. On top of access to all sites, it asks to block content on any page and to control your browser's proxy settings. Proxy control may be there for a feature, but it lets an extension route all your traffic, so read the vendor's explanation before you install. The code isn't published.
Buster: free and open source, but you press the button
Buster is GPL-licensed, free and fully readable. It works on one thing: the reCAPTCHA audio challenge, which it sends to a speech recognition service and transcribes. You start each solve with a button under the widget, so it's an accessibility and convenience tool, not hands-off automation. The developer warns that solves aren't guaranteed, and that more than a couple of reCAPTCHA challenges a day can get you temporarily blocked even without the extension. An optional desktop app, which uses the permission to exchange messages with programs outside the browser, simulates input to improve its success rate.
Which auto captcha solver fits which job
Choose by the captcha you meet most and how you want to pay. This is the short version:
| Your situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A reCAPTCHA audio challenge now and then, nothing to pay | Buster | Free, open source, you stay in control of each solve |
| Light personal use, mixed captcha types | NopeCHA | A daily free allowance, and Chrome and Firefox builds on the same version |
| Unusual types such as GeeTest or Arkose Labs | 2Captcha | The longest list of types on its Chrome listing |
| reCAPTCHA and Turnstile all day, with a hard daily budget | CaptchaNo | Daily spend limit, per-page cap, a Turnstile grace period and v3 off by default |
| You need to read the code before installing | Buster or CaptchaNo | GPL repository, or MIT source shipped unminified in the download |
What extension permissions mean, and how to check them
Every auto captcha solver asks for access to all sites, because a captcha can appear on any page. That's normal. What sets them apart is the access they ask for on top of that. Before you install one, open its Firefox Add-ons page and expand the permissions section. Firefox shows the plain-language list, while the Chrome Web Store mostly shows a data disclosure. Look out for:
- Access to all sites: the extension can read and change pages you visit. It's needed to find the widget and insert the token. Ask what it sends off the page. Ours sends only the page URL, the widget's site key and declared action, your user agent and, for image captchas, the image.
- Tabs or navigation activity: the extension can see which tabs and URLs you open. This is useful for per-site switches, but it's more than solving strictly needs.
- Proxy settings: the extension can route your browser's traffic. This is the one to question hardest.
- Block content on any page: the extension can filter network requests.
- Developer tools: the extension can add panels to the browser's developer tools and read data from the tabs you inspect.
Two more checks: whether the listing says the extension loads no remote code, and where your API key is stored. A key kept only in local extension storage, and sent only to the vendor's API, is the safe pattern.
What no captcha solver extension will fix
An extension answers the captcha. It can't change the IP address, browser fingerprint or session that the site judges alongside it. That causes three common failures:
- DataDome and similar session-scored checks. These return a cookie tied to the IP address that solved them, so a solve made from anywhere other than your own connection won't match your browser. That's why our extension leaves DataDome out. How DataDome decides who to block explains why.
- Accepted widget, rejected form. A valid token can still fail if it expires before you submit, was made for another action, or the site's own score threshold is higher. We go through each cause in why valid captcha tokens get rejected.
- Captchas that keep coming back. If a site asks again on every page, the problem is usually your network or browser setup, not the captcha. Paying to solve the same check over and over costs money without fixing it, which is what a per-page cap is for.
Extension or API: which do you need?
Use an extension when a person is at the keyboard. Use an API when a script is. Extensions can be loaded into automated Chromium, but the setup is fragile and the solve is hard to log and retry. A script is better off calling a captcha solver API directly and injecting the token itself. Our Selenium walkthrough for reCAPTCHA and Turnstile shows the full pattern. With CaptchaNo, the same account and balance work for the extension and the API.
Either way, automate only where you're allowed to: your own sites, systems you have permission to test, and data collection a site's terms permit. Our acceptable use policy spells this out.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free auto captcha solver extension?
Yes, with limits. Buster is free and open source but only handles reCAPTCHA audio challenges, and you start each solve yourself. NopeCHA is free for personal use within a daily allowance, and NoCaptchaAI installs free with paid plans for more usage. Paid extensions such as CaptchaNo, 2Captcha and CapSolver charge per solve from a prepaid balance, and CaptchaNo gives new accounts free trial credit.
Is a captcha solver extension safe to install?
It depends on what it asks for and where it sends data. Every solver needs access to the sites you visit to see the captcha. Be warier of extras like proxy control or blocking content on any page. Prefer an extension that names the one host it talks to, loads no remote code, keeps your key in local storage and lets you read its source.
Does a captcha solver extension work in Firefox?
Most of the six have a Firefox build, but versions differ. NopeCHA, NoCaptchaAI and Buster listings were updated in 2026. 2Captcha's Firefox listing dates from September 2024 and CapSolver's from February 2024, both older than their Chrome builds. CaptchaNo runs on Firefox 128 or newer as a temporary add-on until its signed listing is live.
How much does an auto captcha solver cost?
Paid extensions bill each solve from a balance you top up, so the cost depends on the captcha type and how often it appears. At CaptchaNo a reCAPTCHA v2 solve is $0.00598, Turnstile is $0.00435 and an image captcha is $0.003, and failed solves aren't charged. A daily spend limit stops costs from growing past what you set.
Can I use a captcha solver extension with Selenium or Puppeteer?
You can load an unpacked extension into a Chromium browser that Selenium or Puppeteer controls, and some vendors document it. It's usually the weaker choice for scripts, because you can't easily see, retry or log what the extension did. Calling a solving API from your code gives you the token directly and lets you handle failures yourself.
Why does the captcha come back after the extension solves it?
The site judged something besides the captcha. A token can expire before you submit, be made for a different action, or fall short of the site's score threshold. Anti-bot systems also weigh your IP address, cookies and browser setup. If the same check reappears on every page, fix the network or browser first, rather than paying for repeated solves.
Try an auto captcha solver with a hard daily cap
If reCAPTCHA and Turnstile are what slow you down, install the CaptchaNo extension, set your daily spend limit and choose automatic or manual mode. Create an account for free trial credit with no card, then paste your key into the extension's settings page. Updated October 2026. We recheck every listing in this comparison each quarter.
