CaptchaNo vs 2Captcha: An Honest Comparison

comparisons

How CaptchaNo and 2Captcha differ on documented coverage, billing model and resale terms — with no speed benchmarks we cannot reproduce.

CaptchaNo and 2Captcha solve the same challenges in very different ways, and the right choice depends on one question: are you solving for your own systems, or building something other people use? We run CaptchaNo, so read this with that in mind — then check every factual claim against the sources we link.

2Captcha has been trading since 2014 and publishes the longest task catalogue in this market. It is the default recommendation in most roundups, usually for good reason. Where we differ is narrower than the marketing on either side suggests, and it is worth being precise about it.

What 2Captcha does well

Three things, stated plainly, because a comparison that pretends the other option has no merits is not worth reading.

  • Coverage breadth. Dozens of documented challenge types, including regional ones almost nobody else lists. If your target uses something obscure, 2Captcha is the most likely place to find it supported.
  • Transparency. It names a legal entity and country, and runs a public status page. In a category where most providers name no company anywhere on their site, that is genuinely unusual and worth weighting.
  • Longevity. Over a decade of operation means a mature API, real SDKs in most languages, and a large body of third-party integration code you can learn from.

It is also candid about not negotiating: it states that rates are the same for every customer below a very high volume threshold. You may not like that answer, but it is a straight one.

Where we differ

Billing on success

We charge only when a solve produces a usable result. A failed attempt, an unsolvable challenge, an upstream error — none of them cost you anything. This matters more than a headline rate, because what you actually pay is your rate divided by your success rate. Ask any provider you are evaluating whether failed attempts are billed, and get the answer in writing.

Building on top

If you are an agency, a SaaS embedding solving, or anyone whose customers benefit from the capacity, you need written permission to resell. We publish a reseller programme: resale is permitted, with a separate API key per customer and usage per key. 2Captcha's terms are silent on resale — not hostile, but silent, which means you are relying on it not being enforced. That is a different risk profile from an explicit yes.

One request shape

Our API uses a single request shape across every challenge type: you change the type field, not your integration. Adding DataDome to a codebase that already solves reCAPTCHA is a one-line change. See the API reference for the full shape.

Side by side

Observed from each service's own published pages in October 2026. We compare on documented facts, not on speed or accuracy claims we cannot reproduce.

What we will not claim

We do not publish head-to-head speed or accuracy benchmarks against 2Captcha. We cannot run their account under controlled conditions, and a benchmark nobody can reproduce is marketing rather than evidence. Any comparison that tells you one service is "3× faster" without publishing its method is asking you to take a number on faith.

Run both against your own targets. Measure accepted completions, not returned tokens — the gap between those two numbers is where most of the real difference lives, and it depends far more on your proxy and session handling than on which provider you picked. Our benchmarks page explains exactly what we measure and why we will not measure anyone else.

How to choose between them

Pick 2Captcha if coverage breadth is your binding constraint — an unusual regional challenge that only they document, and you are solving for your own systems. Pick CaptchaNo if you are building something others use, if failed-attempt billing is eating your margin, or if you want one integration shape across every type. For most teams the honest answer is to trial both for an afternoon against real targets, which costs almost nothing and settles it better than any article.

Migrating, if you decide to

Keep your proxy and user-agent handling exactly as it is — that logic is the valuable part and it transfers unchanged. Swap the endpoint and the request body, map your challenge types across, and run both in parallel on a slice of traffic before you cut over. Drop-in examples for Selenium, Puppeteer and Playwright cover the common runners.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CaptchaNo a 2Captcha alternative?

Yes, for most common challenge types including reCAPTCHA v2 and v3, Cloudflare Turnstile and DataDome. The practical differences are billing on success rather than attempts, explicit permission to resell, and a single request shape across every type. For unusual regional challenges, 2Captcha documents a wider catalogue and may be the only option.

Which is faster, CaptchaNo or 2Captcha?

We will not answer that with a number, because we cannot run their account under controlled conditions and any figure we published would be unverifiable. Solve times also depend heavily on your own proxy quality and session handling. Trial both against your real targets and measure accepted completions rather than returned tokens.

Can I resell 2Captcha?

Their terms are silent on resale rather than explicitly permitting it, which means you would be relying on a prohibition not existing rather than on permission being granted. If you are building a product that passes solving capacity to customers, get written confirmation before you commit engineering time, whichever provider you choose.

How hard is it to migrate between captcha solvers?

Easier than most teams expect, because the valuable logic is not the API call. Your proxy handling, user-agent matching and retry policy all transfer unchanged. What changes is the endpoint, the request body and the type names. Run both in parallel on a slice of traffic for a day before cutting over.

Do I need a proxy with either service?

For token-based challenges like reCAPTCHA v2 a proxy is optional but improves acceptance noticeably. For session-graded systems such as DataDome it is mandatory, because the result is bound to the exit IP that earned it. Any provider returning a DataDome cookie minted on their own address is handing you something that will fail immediately.

Try both and decide

The only comparison that settles this is the one you run. Start a free trial, point it at your real targets alongside whatever you use today, and compare accepted completions.
